A Little About Me... Deirdre Lineweaver

 Deirdre Lineweaver, a multi-media artist, was born in California, but she grew up on three different continents, spending most of her childhood on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia. Born into a family of passionate travelers, Deirdre’s father, an astrophysicist, and her mother, a folklorist/professional dancer, raised her with a unique outlook. 

Before going to college, Deirdre backpacked around America, busked by the beach in Australia, and apprenticed to the renowned American sculptor, Edward Hlavka. 

She graduated from The Evergreen State College with a chosen major of Environmental Art after studying a variety of subjects including: botany, biology, chemistry, and math, as well as history, permaculture, art, art history, and literature. Deirdre also studied art history in Europe and travelled in Europe for several terms, avidly sketching architecture and classical pieces. 

She has taken classes at the Florence Art Academy, Italy and the Gage Academy, in Seattle. Her interest in art spans many mediums though her main focus is sculpture, painting, and sketching. 

Deirdre is also a multi-instrument musician, seamstress of hand-sewn, upcycled clothing, a writer and a model. 

Her main themes in art reflect upon environmental impact either through process or through donated contribution to active charities fighting for preserving eco-systems and habitats. She dreams of designing larger works that include green concepts and practicality.
